Customers who went to a local coffee shop in Vancouver, Washington on Saturday didn’t realize they would be witnessing a powerful scene.
A woman pulled up to this Dutch Bros coffee stand in tears and the baristas wondered what was wrong with the saddened lady. Someone told them:
“she’s just having a really bad day. Her husband passed.”
Barista Evan Freeman recounted:
“As soon as she said that, I was like, ‘There’s nothing more you need to say. We got this. We’re going to do what we do every time we get someone who’s in pain or hurt. We’re going to give them our love.’”
They offered her a free drink and stopped everything during a busy time of day to take care of her.
They bowed their heads and held hands with the woman – an image that has inspired tens of thousands online.
“If every single person … did an act of kindness and had a smile on their face every single day, the world would be a completely different place,” said Pierce, another barista that was present.
